Shocking Fake Tiger Pics
By Tom Spelling
A farmer in the mountainous region of northern China recently took photos of a tiger in the wild that, supposedly, proved the existence of a sub-species of tiger long feared extinct.Chinese Internet users now claim, however, that these images are actually fake and have been produced using digital software. The sharp eyed techies have suggested that the images purported to be taken by the farmer in the forest, were in fact stolen from a commemorative Chinese New Year's poster produced back in 2002.
Even the poster’s manufacturer had to agree that the two images appeared exactly the same. Click here to judge for yourself. The striped moggy was even sitting in the same pose, with exactly the same pattern of stripes. That’s as good as having the same finger print in many people’s eyes.
The supposed fake photo is on the right. What do you reckon - same pussy cat?

More worryingly still, The Null has recently uncovered that these fake pictures aren’t isolated incidents and that there are even more shocking images leaking on to the Internet via over ambitious tourist agencies. Exactly what percentage are fake is still unclear but early indications are that the Indian (see image) and Italian (see image) tourist boards have been trying to hoodwink the unsuspecting public.
If you come across any suspicious tiger pictures of your own during your online travels, do send them in and we’ll make sure they get handed over to the correct authorities.
