Phunny Phobias
If you met someone who was afraid of paper or wax statues, wouldn't you tell them to stop being so ridiculous and get over it? Every Monday, Null editor Hayley hand-picks another bizarre phobia and tries to work out whether it's real or rubbish.
This week:
Optophobia: fear of opening your eyes
What's so scary about it?
You know, I often feel like that in the morning. Afraid to open my eyes lest the sky should have collapsed or worse, sleeping on the same side again has given me a wrinkle.
What do the scientists say about it?
Sigh. Nothing. Have they no compassion? In recent weeks, we've uncovered a startling lack of sympathy among the scientific community for people with fears of Scotch eggs, pins, pickles and dust. Shame on them.
Hayley says:
"Alright, alright, I'll go with the scientists for a change. Rubbish."
